Our internal development team at Filmstorm began testing a tool for creating motion data from video sources in real-time. This has led to testing building motion data from the resulting poses generated which have led to initially accurate results.
Exporting motion data is currently not available in the current build due but will be available if we get enough contributions and support to continue development on it. This is based on the great work by Google on Movenet, which provides a proven trained neural net for accurate pose detection. To help us further develop the motion data generation you can contribute to this project here by becoming a member: https://filmstorm.net/subscribe/
Currently, you can pass in most video data that contains a human character either real or computer-generated.
We believe this will be a useful tool for generating fast, rough motion capture data for use in previzualization settings and even provide data that are competitive in the market to go against traditional motion capture pipelines. Of course, you'll most likely always get more accurate data with Vicon, OptiTrack, and Inertia-based products but at the moment we will keep this free to access but available to support if you think this would be helpful for you with more development.
You can test this tool for yourself right now for free, you just need to be logged into your Filmstorm account. - the current build works in the browser so anyone can try it out (may not work on mobile devices as of yet).
